School Nursing Team
At Edge Grove, pupils and staff are cared for by our School Nursing Team, who are experienced, friendly and approachable Registered General Nurses, based in the Medical Centre on the main School site.
The Medical Centre is staffed by qualified nurses who are on duty all day (0800 – 1700) during the School term.
Pupils are offered first aid treatment in School and on the sports pitches, plus immediate care and advice for illness, together with guidance on the management of existing conditions.
The School Nursing Team works in close partnership and communication with parents and relevant staff, including our Catering Team for the management of any food allergies and intolerances.
The School Nurses produce Individual Care Plans for pupils with significant health needs, including allergies, in consultation with parents/guardians and advise staff on their management. They liaise closely with the School Immunisation Service to ensure pupils are offered relevant immunisations.
