Enrichment
Enrichment activities extend learning beyond the classroom, bringing subjects to life in engaging and dynamic ways.
Edge Grove, these are thoughtfully designed to complement the outstanding education provided in the classroom. These activities may include residential trips, day excursions to galleries and landmarks, or in-school workshops. We also invite distinguished speakers, authors, artists, performers, musicians, and leaders to inspire and engage the children.
There is an extensive range of day and residential trips on offer at Edge Grove. For pupils in Year 7 and 8, we run bi-annual sports and cultural tours which in the past have included a football tour to Salou in Spain, a netball tour to Barbados, St Vincent and Sri Lanka, a cricket tours to Sri Lanka and Barbados, and music tours to Sri Lanka and Italy. We also run an annual ski trip which is open to all pupils in Year 5 to 8.
Every year in the summer term our pupils in Years 3-8 experience an ‘Enrichment Week.’ For many this will involve a stay away from home at places such as Devon, the Cotswolds and Sussex. The children gain so much from the experience – personal development and growth, independence, accomplishing challenges and goals. Occasions such as Enrichment Week are invaluable in a child’s time at Edge Grove; the experiences gained are priceless and lasting memories are always made.
