Moving Up to the Senior Department
By the end of Year 5, Edge Grove pupils have developed in maturity, independence and confidence, both academically and emotionally, and are therefore well-equipped for moving up to the Senior Department.
Having already experienced a senior school style teaching timetable in Year 5, involving navigating their way around our School site and remembering everything they need for lessons, the transition into Year 6 is smooth and seamless, and pupils adapt readily to the changes in routine and expectations that are part and parcel of entering the Senior Department.
Senior Department Form Teachers are well experienced in managing this transition and will ensure that each pupil is prepared for the elevated expectations and responsibilities – and privileges – that come with being near the top of the School.
