Moving Up to the Middle Department
The transition between Year 2 and Year 3, when the children move to the Middle Department in the Apthorp building, is an exciting one.
Year 3 pupils are at an important stage of their education, developing in independence and ready to appreciate the many new opportunities and experiences that lie ahead: new routines, a longer school day, new friends and teachers, a wider variety of clubs and sporting fixtures against other schools.
In the summer term, Year 2 and Year 3 Form Teachers meet regularly to discuss the children to ensure that they share pastoral and academic information proactively. The children spend time in the Apthorp building, meeting the Year 3 pupils and staff and finding out about the next exciting phase of the Edge Grove academic adventure.
