Nursery

Our Nursery Environment

Every part of our Nursery environment has been designed to spark curiosity, to ignite interest and encourage each child into imaginative play, or creative and critical thinking.

We encourage a free flow between the different areas of our Nursery, encouraging our children to develop confidence and independence within a structured framework.

Our Classrooms

Edge Grove Nursery, a bright and stimulating learning building, has three distinct learning zones, two on the ground floor and another upstairs, all of which are light and welcoming, and carefully planned and extensively resourced to provide an exciting environment where young children can use their imagination to create and discover.

Our Garden

Young children’s learning is enhanced if they have access to the great outdoors, and Edge Grove Nursery benefits from an extensive garden area, where children can extend their learning on the climbing frames, in the playhouse, on trikes or scooters, or on any of the balancing equipment available.

When the weather permits, children free-flow between inside and out, engaging in purposeful play.

In addition to our own outstanding provision in Aldenham Village, Nursery pupils of course  benefit from the extensive facilities and resources on the main school site, just a short drive up the road – and getting there is fun too, as the children travel on one of our school minibuses, also known as the Edge Grove “Rocket”

The Wider School Site

Edge Grove Nursery pupils enjoy their regular trips up the main School site, via the Edge Grove Rocket (aka one of the School minibuses).  Once at the School, Nursery pupils are able to enjoy many of the facilities the like of which pupils would normally have to wait until Reception to use, including the Sports Hall, Theatre, Astro, and Forest School.

My child was very happy and well looked after at the Edge Grove Nursery. The staff are fantastic and so nurturing, and the facilities are brilliant. My child learnt a lot through classroom lessons, forest school and play setting her up very well for school.

Nursery Parent 2024

From the moment our little one joined, it was evident this was a nurturing environment that truly cares for the well-being and development of each child. The way our child seamlessly settled into the nursery was impressive.
