Occasional Places
Whilst most pupils join us either in Nursery (from age 2.5) or Reception (age 4+), from time to time we may have occasional places in other year groups, although many of these may already have waiting list
Please contact Admissions (via email admissions@edgegrove.com or telephone 01923 855724) to find out about the availability of occasional places.
We will arrange for you to visit the School for a tour and a meeting with the Headmaster, Mr Richard Stanley, during which you can ask any questions relating to your child’s admission to the School.
If a space is available we will ask you to register your child with us and invite him/her for an Assessment and Taster Morning / Day in their current year group – for pupils looking to join Year 1 or 2, we find a half day is usually enough.
Children looking for a place in Year 4,5,6 or 7 will spend a full day with us and during the day will sit an online assessment in Maths and English. Your child will then join lessons in his/her current year group for the remainder of the day.
We will ask you to send us your child’s most recent school report(s) for review, and will also ask your permission to contact your child’s current school for their confidential feedback.
If your child does join us mid year in one of these year groups, we will “buddy” them up with another child in the class who will show them the ropes and help them to settle quickly and find their feet in their class.
