FUTURE SCHOOLS PROGRAMME UPDATE

ISEB Common Pre-Tests

The ISEB Common Pre-Tests will be taken at Edge Grove on Wednesday 20th November. Parents can register now, via the Guardian Portal. ISEB Pre-Tests are the online admissions tests used by leading senior schools at 11+ as part of their admissions process. The ISEB Pre-Tests are online, multiple-choice tests and are taken on a computer. There are four tests: English, mathematics, verbal reasoning (VR) and non-verbal reasoning (NVR).

We recommend that families explore the preparation section of the Pre-Tests Admissions Toolkit for a range of free resources, information and advice directly from the exam board.

Parents can also sign up to ISEB’s mailing list to be kept up to date with information about the 2024-25 Pre-Tests session and be notified when registration opens. Sign up at www.iseb.co.uk/pretests. There is also a wealth of resources for parents and pupils including a Pre-Tests Admissions Toolkit on ISEB’s Families Hub. Visit www.iseb.co.uk/families.

London 11+ Consortium

The London 11+ Consortium Entrance Exam takes place on Tuesday 3rd December at Edge Grove.

Interviews

Form Teachers are conducting practice interviews with all Year 6 pupils, prioritising those who have interviews in the coming weeks and ensuring that pupils have the very best advice as to how to promote their engagement and achievements to senior school admissions staff. You can practise this at home (and is an excellent way to enliven boring car journeys!)

Future Schools Handbook for Parents 2024-2025

The significantly revised Future Schools Handbook for Parents 2024-2025, is now on the Edge Grove App which guides you through Future School applications,  providing you with a timeline of actions to ensure that you can make well-considered decisions.

Future Schools Meetings

If your child is in Year 6 and you would like to meet to discuss your child’s academic profile and next steps, please book an appointment via Mrs Thomas, Head’s PA on  futureschools@edgegrove.com

Work in partnership with the School, keep us informed, make realistic and well-informed choices and you will be fine. It needn’t be a stressful process at all; we work hard to ensure a smooth and seamless transition to 11+ and 13+ senior schools and so do the senior schools.

Here’s to a bumper year of ambitious, yet realistic future school applications!

…and if your child is not ready to move on to a senior school or to leave Edge Grove behind, what about Years 7 and 8?
